Week two begins with a green painting. These sketches may help me to paint faster, looser, and with less second guessing. I am also excited by the prospect of trying different styles and quickly getting an idea of if I like it, or not.

Crap! I forgot to mention in my last post that the painting with the orange dot was completed yesterday. I didn't post it then because I had a bunch of other stuff to do, but for my first week doing the painting-a-day thing, I was successful, in that, I painted every day, mon-fri, which is my goal. I'm going to give myself the weekends off. Sure, I can paint if I'm feelin' it, but I don't have to.

Whoa, Nellie! What's up with this thing? Well, for starters, the photo is pretty awful. I figured this whole, painting-a-day thing wouldn't do me a whole hell of a lot of good if didn't push it past my comfort zone from time to time. This would be such a time. It's 5x7, acrylic on wood. At least that much is the same.

Well, not much time to paint today. The auditions have been slow for so long, and today, whammo! Two appointments and a callback. I just realized that I haven't been putting the size or medium on my last couple of posts. For the most part, my postcard paintings will be 5x7 acrylic on wood panel. So this one? Yup, 5x7, acrylic on wood panel.

You know, when I first finished this one, I was concerned it was a bit dark, but I don't know, it doesn't seem to bother me. It's a simpler piece.

Awww, ain't it cute? This one's a bit smaller than the others. A true "postcard painting" this little number is only 4x6. I wanted to experiment with texture, and it's relation with it's size. I feel the heavy pigment and it's diminutive dimensions invite the viewer closer...

A new painting. A good friend of mine refers to these smaller works as "jewels", and so I'm going to borrow that from her. This is the first such jewel in a, (hopefully) long line. It's 5x7, acrylic on wood. If you're interested in this piece, gimme a shout @: jeff@jeffbowser.com
