Untitled Abstract
5"x7" acrylic on wood

Ah, the joys of glazing! Since I began working with acrylics I really hadn't done any glazing, (something I did a lot of when I was working in oils). I can't say that the technique really lends itself to the postcard paintings as I usually try to do them in an hour or so. The drying time is increased with the glazing, but it's a look I'm quite fond of.

Yesterday I was talking to some artists about my acrylics not drying so fast as I would like this winter. They said that they turn on the oven and then turn it off and put the painting in the cooling oven and it dries really quickly. I don't know if it hurts the paint or if it creates fumes though.
