Untitled
5"x7"
Acrylic on fiberboard

I had surgery on my sinuses last friday, and I'm still on the mend.  Today my head was splitting and I couldn't really focus on anything.  I wanted to try painting, but was afraid to commit.  D came up with the genius idea to tackle a jewel.  "Brilliant!" I think I may start hitting the jewels to warm up a bit before I get to the larger works for the show.  It's also a good way to start posting more work on Daily Painters.  I haven't been doing as many pieces as I should be.

Great painting. Love the colors and the texture. How do you achieve the bumpy textures?
Cheers,

Thank you, Arco! I use a combination of a few different acrylic additives and sometimes screen to achieve the bumpiness. On this piece I used Clear Granular Gel and Garnet Gel, both made by Golden.
